I have been living with my girlfriend for a few months and have decided to go our separate ways. Unfortunately in this time I have credit card debt from paying for our car insurance, an engagement ring, and a new vehicle so that she could use my car since she wrecked her own. The total amount of debt is anywhere between 3,000 and 5,000. Do I have a case to sue for debt repayment, and if so how do I go about this in the best/most efficient manner?

The law takes no note of what boyfriends and girlfriends spend (or get conned out of) on each other during a dating or live in relationship.

The next time you get a girlfriend, let her pay her own expenses, just as you pay yours.

The same for her car problems, let those remain her problems.

And, before you think about marriage, make sure she can pay her own way.

As Tina Turner implored, "What's love got to do with it?"

Hopefully, you at least get the ring back. I hope the sex was worth it. I was in one of those relationships when 18, I missed the money but the sex was worth it.

Money or sex, a no brainer then, a no brainer now - MONEY every time for me.

No, you can't sue for debt repayment on things you decided to pay for/buy. Sorry.
