I was recently enrolled in an on-line college bachelors program. I was told by the enrollment person that the school was accredited and the any credit earned would be transferable, they are not. After the first term I became suspicious of the school since all of the tests (finals included) were open book.
I looked into the college a little more and found that they were involved in a class action lawsuit in Dallas for Fraud.
I've since withdrawn from the school and requested that they send any funds that were not used back to the company that financed my loans. I was told that this amount was roughly $2,000 and to contact the school's account specialist. I have tried multiple times to contact this person and left numerous messages with no one getting back in touch with me.
I would like to pursue legal action against them but I don't want to add even more debt to what I already owe ($12,000 for 7 months!!!). I don't want any money out of this, I would like to have the money that is owed to me paid back to the loan company if not the entire loan.
Any advice?
