Massachusetts I work for the county.
I worked one day & when i had gotten my check, the payroll person had taken a sick day away from me. I wasn't sick I worked that day. They said there was a discrepancy because someone told her I wasn't in that day. She said she will fix this matter.
My question is was it legal for her to take the sick time away from me without finding out if I was there or not?If it wasn't what can I do about it?

If you work for a small company that does not have electronic punch ins and/or web based punch in clocks, there is always the possibility for a human error from part of your superiors and from HR. Since you have already addressed the issue and the company will be paying for your time, there is no legal issue here...

There is no law in MA or any other state that says all transactions must be checked with you in advance. People make mistakes. They fixed it. Why do you think you would get to take legal action regarding something that's already been corrected?

And, BTW, sick time is not a protected benefit in MA (or any other state).
