My company was hit with a default judgment because it didn't respond to a garnishment summons. The default judgment was entered in 2007 and now we are getting phone calls demanding payment of over $12,000. They sent us a Writ of Fieri Facias in that $12,000 amount too.

We would like to negotiate it down to a lower amount if that is possible, but since it was a judgment entered by the court, I don't know what my options are. Is there anything we can do?

Why did you ignore a summons? Now that it is a default judgment and they have attached a fi fa to it all you can do is bankrupt on the debt or pay it.
