Default Judgment

To whom it may concern,

I was residing at the apartment for one year in the Upper East Side. In 2013, I was violently assaulted by a prior roommate, who lived in the apartment for less than 3 weeks causing property damage, damage to my personal belongings, and physical abuse towards me. The NYPD got involved to protect me from my abusive roommate. There was a protective order against her for one year. Two years later, I am being harassed online by my prior roommate regarding the default judgment that she obtained. I do not owe my prior roommate because she threatened and forced me to pay her $1,400, after she violently assaulted me in 2013. I was then forced to move out from my apartment shortly thereafter to find a place to live within 48 hours. I am in need of advice regarding how to mitigate the default judgment. I did not receive any legal documents prior to seeing the default judgment that my prior roommate posted for everyone to see on my social media sites. What must I do now?

You should IGNORE bullies and idiots.
As for the judgment, you can pay it, or let her chase you to try and enforce it.
You can discuss declaring bankruptcy with a bankruptcy lawyer.
BK can potentially wash the judgment away.
See what a lawyer has to say.
