I recently took my 82 yr old father in to a local dental office as a "NEW" patient,when the exam and "New" xrays were completed I paid $73.00 for the xrays at the front desk. After deciding to go to another dentist only a few days later because the dentist in question was very expensive...I called and asked for the x-rays that I had just paid for($73.00 cash)for so I could forward them to another dentist....to my surprise I was told they( the dental office) "By Law" had to keep them..."But" I could pay $20.00 for duplicates of the same ones I just paid for....My question is am I entitled request and to take possession of my original x-rays without futher duplicating costs....And in California is there such a law....Thank You...."Mr. Soon To Be Smiling":nuts
