I am not sure where to start but desperately need help…… I need to know what my rights with regards to an arraignment.

- I was indicted on Felony Theft by Taking Charges in April of 05, almost four years after the alleged crime occurred. I was never served or notified that I had been indicted nor was I arrested prior to my indictment. Should I have received notification and what are the requirements for providing notification ? At that time I nolonger lived in the state of Georgia.
- What are the statue of limitations on Theft by Taking ?
- When I found about the charges I made arrangements to turn myself in and to arrange for bail prior to through my spouses attorney.
- Job relocated me out of state in the fall of 04 and change of address was submitted to court.
- May of 2005 I found out I missed my calendar call. First I never received notice as notice was not sent to the address at the I was taken into custody or my change of address provided to the court.
- I tired through two attorneys to do the right thing and turn myself in but it was indicated that I had missed my trial calendar date. Should I not have had an arraignment ? At no time have I ever received formal notification of charges against, nor have I been given the opportunity to enter a plea. Is an Arraignment not required ? I never waived my right to an arraignment and feel like I am being railroaded and pulled into and used as leverage for them concerning my husband who was also, charged with Theft by Taking
