I hope this topic is relevant.
I have worked as a teller at a large bank for 3 months. The head teller recently asked/I agreed to do a couple things which I question.
Firstly she handed me her brother's debit card from another bank and a piece of paper with his PIN number and asked me to go to the ATM and withdraw money. The PIN number was incorrect so I was unable to complete the transaction. Next she asked me to use the cash advance machine and get the money that way - turns out his account had insufficient funds. She did have his consent to get the funds, but he was not present. Of course there are cameras everywhere and there is now video of me trying to withdraw funds from someone else's account.
Secondly she said she really needed the same amount of money we tried to withdraw from his account so I said I would loan it to her. Since we cannot process our own transactions and we needed to close the branch we went to the ATM of a nearby branch and I used my debit card to withdraw cash and handed it to her and then she proceeded to use her debit card to deposit the cash in her account. Additionally, she tried again to withdraw cash with her brother's debit card for the same amount, and it was again declined. Now there is more video/account evidence of us trying to withdraw that same amount of money and also exchange it within our individual accounts which are held at the bank we work for.
While I certainly did not try to steal or did steal anything I feel as if these transactions are suspicious. But I also feel as though since all the transactions were made at an ATM and were not processed by me as a teller (obviously we are not allowed to process our own transactions) that the account info should be private - both my account, my co-workers, and her brother's.
I realize that I am reading very far into things and am questioning doing this kind of work for a career as it is in my personality to over analyze.
Any help with this kind of experience or similar would be greatly appreciated. I know this site is more geared to retail stores than retail banks.
