I was banned from store name 2 days ago by internal store security. He wanted me to sign
something and I said, "give it to me and I will take it to my lawyer for review and it he approves
I will sign it and he will send it to you with my signature. Other than that I am not signing it".
I tried to read it real fast but it was something about me and theft. So I did not sign it.
Internal loss prevention got frustrated and stormed off with the paper muttering "I am going to write
on here that you refused to sign it".

If I was to go back into that store, without that thing being signed could I still be arrested. If so,
WHY? WHERE WOULD BE THE PROOF I WAS ASKED TO STAY AWAY? PUTTING ON THERE THAT I REFUSED TO SIGN IT IS NOT PROOF OF ANYTHING. IT IS NOT PROOF THAT HE EVER SPOKE TO ME. Maybe he couldn't find me to sign it, so he would put that down, etc. Maybe I had already left and so he put that, etc.

Thank you.

If you go back in the store and they call the police on you, all they really need is for the person to say they told you to leave on X day. That is enough for the police to arrest your or issue you a citation. Even better is a paper with your signature, but no signature is fine too.

Think of it this way, no one can make you sign anything....ever. If you refuse to sign the police ticket, they arrest you. If you refuse to sign a store paper, they write "refused to sign". The lack of a signature does not make the notice suddenly invalid.

Why did they approach you to ban you?
