This is my problem... I'm currently at Turner Job Corps, at Albany, Georgia, and I'm having some issues with the way I've been treated, and wanna ask, should I pursue legal action towards this? I'm a active believer in all religions, to me all are right to a point... from the Big Bang, to Jewish I study them all. Here recently I've had some problems pursueing a certain religion due to government staff's ignorance. Two fridays ago I wanted to go to a Jewish Temple to worship, see what everything was about there, and I was told I couldn't go. After 2 hrs off bouncing thru staff, flarring my hot tounge, I finally got a pass to leave Turner's Campus to go to Temple. At This point I'm already in a rush... Seems like just cause I ain't going to worship on sunday they can't phatom why I need to go out to worship. Anyways I need to be at temple at 7:00pm, all thruout the week I conferenced with staff about a ride to temple... they said be at the front gate at 7:00pm.... I stand there from 7pm-8pm... no ride. This event ends at 9:00pm so I'm starting to get mad. First I have to go thru hell to get a pass to leave campas to go to temple, now they don't wanna take me there, which they HAVE to provide transportion. I go into the office and ask whats up, and the person posta be taking me is shooting the breeze, not even caring. She tells me they never told her anything about a ride to temple on friday, even though I sceduled it a wk in advance, and reminded them everyday... So now after the whole affiar of getting her to take me I ended up arriving at 8:55pm... I missed it... they've done this basicly for the past 4 times I've tried to go.. Then just today I put the religous signs on my hat and they took it away from me... saying they aren't allowed on goverment property... yet their cross is just fine... just I never see them ask any staff to remove their cross necklace... nope just me and my hat with the signs on Pegan, Cristianity, Catholic, Jewish, Kabalha, and Confussious symbols... doesn't seem right to me... I feel as if my rights are being raped cause I don't believe how they believe.

Nothing in the law says they have to give you time off from work so you can go to Temple to "see what it's all about". They most certainly do not have to give you a ride there.

If you are not a Jew, they do not have to allow you time off to to go Temple. If you are not a Catholic, they do not have to allow you time off to go to Mass. And so on.

First I have to go thru hell to get a pass to leave campas to go to temple

Then there is nothing left to fear, my child.

Now, go in peace.

You seem to be confused and are not really sure what religion you are. You are not being reasonable. Your employer does not have to accomodate you since you wish to study 6 religions. They do NOT have to provide transportation. Geesh.
