I was at a casino upon asking for a stool to sit on at a craps table. The worker stated they only gave stools to the handicapped and eldery. I told her that I was disabled and my buddy stated I was disabled.
The worker, table boss, pit boss all talked. They looked at me and kinda laughed. After about 15 mins, I asked the worker about the stool. She stated they only gave stools to people in wheelchairs or with crutchs. She asked me where my wheelchair was. I told her mine was in my truck if I need it.
I asked her who came up with this new plan she said I would have to ask the table boss. I did, she said the pit boss did... I ask the pit boss he started to get pissed but I pulled out my Disabled Veterans ID. After this he explain people abuse the stools all the time and he didn't think I was disabled. I asked him why didn't you just ask me if I had proof? He then got me a stool. I asked to speak with his boss. He said he would contact him. I sit there for another 10-15 mins waiting. He said his boss was busy, by this time my buddy who had walked off because he was going to lose his temper and didn't want to make a scene came back. He said that we should go to another floor and get away from these people. In which we did. I sit at a blackjack table and spoke with the pit boss there. Just explained about what happen etc... He got the boss for me..... boss said that the other pit boss had just called him but failed to contact him when I had requested earlier. He was really sorry for what happen etc.....
The problem was by the time this was all done out in the open I was the shooter of the dice. So it delayed my play so some of the folks at the table got pretty mad. I was talking with the pit boss over this issue. Having to "Out my disability" in front of everyone wasn't what I had in mind of having a fun night out. Nor was having them ask me where my wheel chair or crutchs in front of everyone. I don't get out much because of the many problems I have going on. Since yellow is my favorite color and I choose to wear a yellow shirt that night I stood out like a sore thumb and everyone was looking at me.
This really isn't a big deal for me... Except of course with the added stress of this mess came additional pain, additional pain meds etc... etc....
I was wondering on the legal aspects of this issue was there anything that could be done? Could a person sue because their night was screwed up by the actions, comments from employee's, boss at this casino?
