The owner(s) of the company I used to work decided I was to be dismissed. They flew from the Western provinces to assure me of their categorical decision.

I started in December 1st, 2008 and was told I am no longer an active member of this company as of April 15, 2010. Cold 11:35 am, Vancouver time.

The reasoning behind my termination gyrated around my not following management orders.

I have a $ 4,976.66 in my pocket which I took, and I am undecided to cash it.

The gist of the matter turns around about the validity of my dismissal.

I have written in the past a declaration of good faith transaction between me and this company. I have said to the one owner of this company that I was abandoning a secure place of employment to jump to the opportunity to excel in my salesmanship in a total different industry with a written agreement about my expectations. Said expectations expressed a year of bona fide compensation if things turned out sour. Normal business decisions stem from mercurial to bovine implementation of feelings.

It is my contention that I excelled in my performance as a Salesman, and that this conspicuous knowledge would attest to any disparaging compensation.

Am I the person right now to be adequately compensated and expect to be so a reasonable person in the working community?

I submit that the amount in clear terms are as follow:

Vacation paid Amount $865 Balance: $865

Severance paid: $7500 Balance: $8365
EI YTD: $371.79 (144.71) Balance: $8220.29
C.P.P. YTD $1005.98 Amount (406.85) Balance $7,813.44
Income Tax YTD= $4795.73 Amount $2836.78 Balance $4976.66

These are the facts as I can report on my cheque.

I want incisiveness and sheer "legal wisdom" on it. Please do not abandon my inquiry today.

I can contemplate real solutions, not sophisms.

OP, you are free to retain counsel of your choosing.

Such counsel will dispense potential solutions (legal wisdom, to use your term), which will not be mere Sophisms, in exchange for coin of the realm, cash, currency, moola!

Sophisms are offered for free, legal wisdom must be purchased.

Being a person possessed of great legal wisdom, and feeling somewahat charitable (this beautiful Texas morning), I'm going to dispense a bit of my vast legal wisdom for free.

I will not mince words or hold back.

You, citizen, are SOL.

Your termination, even in Canada, was legal.

Your employer was even so kind as to offer you a severance.

About that check, cash it or not, that decision is yours alone to make.

In the future, if you wish to retain your employment, do as you are told.

Insubordination is always grounds for one's dismissal.

Good luck (Bon chance), as some of your countrymen are wont to say!
