My Wife And I Are Supposed To Be Closing On A House In A Couple Weeks. The Purchase Agreement Was Signed, All Contingencies Were Met, And We Got Financing. So Just Last Night She Tells Me She Wants A Divorce!!!!!!! Obviously Plans Have Changed And The House Is No Longer In The Picture. My Question Is, Is There A Way To Void The Purchase Agreement Based Soley Off The Divorce, Without Getting Sued Or Anything Like That. Not Getting The Earnest Money Back Is The Least Of My Problems And Would Not Bother Me If I Did Not Get It Back. Just Need To Know If A New Divorce Is A Legit Reason To Void A Purchase Agreement, Even If It Was Not Wrote Into The Agreement, To Avoid Legal Issues. I Live In Wisconsin As Well, If That Makes A Difference.
Thanks.
