My wife left me and moved to Hawaii I still live in IL, where we got married. I am trying to file the divorce myself. I see on the DuPage County website it says both of us must be present when the judge hears our case. We have no kids, no real estate, nothing to divide up. I know she won't fly back from Hawaii to go to the court hearing because she doesn't have the money to do so. So how can I get divorced with only me being able to make it to court?

I'm sure that there is a way to get divorced from a distance. But she is gonna have to cooperate. It really too bad abou the divorse. Its such a sad thing to take your vows and then have it end in divorse. Good luck with everything, I will pray for you and your wife. Who knows maybe you guys wil miraculously have a hange of heart. you should definatly get some real legal advice... talk to an attourney, about your question. Good luck.

i think!....

i am in il and from my understanding- they will place an ad in the newspaper if she doesnt respond to her end of it and after 30 days or so you will go back to court and the judge will decide in your favor. so she really doesnt have to do anything!
