I recently submitted a release of contract of sale thru my real estate agent on a home I was contracted to purchase. I have complained all through the process of total lack of communication with the Super in charge. In addition, major issues with the home has taken place. For example, the porch being torned down and rebuilt after framing and inspections only to move over 2ft, wrong size windows put in, trey ceilings being totally left out during framing along with missing doors to adjoining rooms and when asked where is the trap door for the attic, "I don't know sir." This home is a new prototype but I was literally worn out with disgust. I have built two other homes and never have experienced anything like this. The sale of this home is in the high 300's. I felt compelled to cancel now and try to get my ernest money back of $5000.00. I need to know all my options after signing a binding contract with a builder that is not in any means professional.

Are there any provisions in the written contract that would let you out?

Certainly try to get your money back.

But it doesn't look like you left yourself many outs.

I think you need a lawyer.
