Hi i recently got in an altercation with my boyfriend and now we have to go to court. I recieved a seopina(sp?) in the mail saying i have to testify against him. I did write a statement at the time. Do i have to testify? Can i pleade the 5th? What are my options to NOT testify against him?
A little info about what happen...
We were hanging out drinking with 2 other people ( his Ex Wife and her New Husband)and got arguing and he left so they took me to his house to get my things. My boyfriend and his ex wife got arguing and words were said and Her husband and my boyfriend ended up rolling around on the ground fighting and the cops were called ect. Cops came we wrote statements and now we got to go to court over it. I don't have charges on me but i'm a witness against my boyfriend and i really don't want to testify if there is any way i can get out of it without getting into trouble. All of us just want to drop it at this point and move on. Both parties pled not guilty also. I hope i summed it up good enough so you guys get the jist of what i mean and thank you for your time. Any advice would be helpeful.
