my husband and i are separated. I would like to do the divorce. My question is do I need a lawyer or can I get the papers and do it myself? We have been married 2 years then divorce then remarried for 1 more year now I plan to divorce again. I need to know if I need a lawyer since there is 2 houses with land involved even thou my name is not on the tile or ownership as well he has his truck payments as well. I believe my name is not on the title as well to the truck. He is selling the both homes. I am not asking for anything from him but a divorce. But one is a stepulation that he owes my mother general amount of money since she help to get the 2nd home which it is written between them alone that is agreeable to he is to pay her back. Do I need a lawyer or can I do this alone?

Thank you

If all you want is your freedom, you could probably represent yourself. In most cases you can download the forms needed from the court's website. You could also buy them at most office supply stores or online. Some states offer paralegals who will draft the forms for you. They charge a nominal fee (usually $300-500) for the service. Some paralegals even charge less. It depends in your state. Start Googling and see what you discover.
