doctor charging me 10x more than normal patients

Can a doctor charge me practically 10 times what he charges normal patients for a consultation just because I was referred to by my lawyer. Their explanation was because I am not a normal cash patient but that I was on a lien, meaning they can rip me off even more?

Are you sure this is the case? I don't know the circumstances but it doesn't sound right. Were you ever presented with a bill? What does "on a lien" mean?
