After paying a physician for a package of skincare treatments, $4500 for one year of services, he performed three treatments over three weeks time and then quit communicating about the rest of the treatments. I finally heard from him after composing a direct and detailed e-mail about receiving a refund for his breaking the agreement. After much debate about what he would do, we settled on $3000 in repayment, $125 twice a month for a year. It has been a year and a half now, and he's only paid $1150, with all payments being late or nonexistent. I did receive the last payment of $150 about two weeks ago. Before sending the payment he implied that the money order would be for the entire repayment amount, which at that point was $2000. When I e-mailed to express my dissatisfaction, he stated he was just paying as a courtesy, and that he never thought I was entitled to repayment. He is completely ignoring me now. I have all of our lengthy e-mails as proof of the agreement. What can I do? Does my trail of communication serve as proof in small claims court?

Sue him in small claims. Whether or not it will be sufficient proof is up to the judge to determine. Bring a record of your original contract and what he agreed to do, and a record of what he actually did. Bring a record of your settlement agreement, any emails you have substantiating that he agreed to refund you $3000, and a record of all the payments he missed showing exactly what you have received to date.
