I bred my dog with another dog and in the contract that we have it states that I will get 40% of the puppy profits and he will get 60% because he has the female and will be taking care of the puppies. But about 4 weeks ago he left to Idaho and left his female dog with us. She is due in 4-5 weeks and we have heard nuthing from this man. And we are providing food for her. If he doesnt show up when she has the puppies do we still have to share 60% with him? Because we are now the ones taking care of the puppies.

Yes you will owe him 60%. It would be reasonable to present him with receipts for your expenses, but you are going to have a hard time modifying the contract because you agreed to keep the dogs while he was away.

I take it that he didn't drop the dogs off while you were at work. You were there when he dropped them off and said he was going on an extended trip? If you were going to complain of the split, that would have been the time to do it.
