We have a 40/60 split with the owner of the female dog us taking 40 since we dont have to take care of any puppies. But when he left he left his dog with his grandma and said he would only be gone a week. Two days after he left the dog with her she called us saying that she cant take care of the dog and that if we dont take her they would take the dog to the pound. And since she is pregnant with our puppies we told her we can take the dog only fot a week till he gets back. We have not heard from the man we have the contract with since we bred our dogs. It has been 4 weeks and still no word from him or his grandma. We have tried calling and we stoped by his house and we cant find anyone. So even tho we have heard nuthing from anyone in 4 weeks do I still have to split the profits if she has the puppies at our house? The contract says that the only reason he is getting 60% is because he would have to take care of the puppies but if im the one taking care of them do we still have to split profits?

You know, this post is completely different from the last post you did on this same subject. You modified the post to get the answer that you wanted. Last time you said that he left the dog WITH YOU not Gramma. You can, if you want, sue him for breach of contract, but you cannot simply change the deal because you don't like what has happened. I'm not saying that he isn't wrong, I'm saying that you are fishing for the answer that you want. You have agreed to take the dog with the puppies so there is a certain amount of waiver on you r part.

You can do whatever you want. Keep 100%, he will likely sue you, and whatever you gained by breaching the contract yourself will probably be eaten up in time and frustration. Does his Grandma know where he is?

You're a kind and noble person to take in a dog from an old woman, a pregnant dog at that.
Your act reminds me of the parable of the Good Samaritan, as told by Jesus himself.
Allow me to recall it for a minute, in your honor.

The colloquial phrase "good Samaritan," meaning someone who helps a stranger, derives from this parable.

The parable is found in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 10, verses 25-37.

The parable goes;

One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: "Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus replied, "What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?" The man answered, "'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" "Right!" Jesus told him. "Do this and you will live!" The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Jesus then replied with a story:

"A Jewish man was travelling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. A Levite walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side. Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, 'Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I'll pay you the next time I'm here.' "Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?" Jesus asked. The man replied, "The one who showed him mercy." Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same.

I am certain Jesus will reward your good deed one day in Heaven.
You showed the elderly woman and the pregnant dog, mercy.
Surely you have more mercy for the man, who has mysteriously gone missing?
Unfortunately, on Earth, right here and now, contract law has none for your actions.
Your bargain is what you agreed to, memorialized, and signed.
If it gives you any consolation, the man might never come back.
You do know what that means for you, don't you?
You could get to KEEP the LITTER of puppies and their mother, the female dog!

:) ;)
