Me and my husband (which now is seperated) use to live in this house that had some furniture in it when we moved in but the landlord was in a hurry to get back to his state and didn't have time to move it. He didnt ever talk to me cause he said that I was a woman and he did business with men. Well in the time we stayed there my then husband said that he told him that he could give the furniture to goodwill if we didn't want it. We have now moved and I was called to the my son's school cause an investigator was there to question my 16 year old son. Well I told him he could not speak to my son but I would be there in 45 minutes. When I got there he was not there he had left. I think the landlord signed a warrant for my arrest but I have never been any trouble I have a clean record. I'm scared can anyone help?

Don't be scared, if thats even what it is all about then as long as your telling the story like it is/happened then nothing should be able to be done to you anyways. I would be finding out why the police went to my minor childs school to talk to him without your consent:mad:

Oh yeah I know that's what it's about because he told me over the phone before I got to the school but when I got there he was gone and the principle said that he wouldn't let him talk to my son.

I dont think YOU have much to worrie about, as long as there is no more to the story, if questioned you can either say just what you have said here that you never talked to the landlord and you ex did and he took the funiture to good will as far as he told you. One more thing were you on the lease or just your ex. If they question you and start to hassel you stop the questioning and ask for a lawyer.

First, landlords don't sign arrest warrants, and this is not something anyone will be arrested for anyway.
If your landlord has an issue about the furniture then he will either deal with you directly or serve you papers to appear in court. Unless you are served papers... don't worry about it.

Yes I was on the lease and my ex once told the landlord in an email that since I was on the lease he could talk to me but he still refused.

If this is true then why is there an investigator on the case?
Perhaps, your child said something to the school officials or the police?
You might wish to ask your child.
Otherwise, contact your husband.
If I were you, I'd speak to a lawyer immediately.
He/she will determine what the police wish to speak to you regarding.
