I put a down payment on a vehicle in which I never received and never signed a contract, how much if any of my down payment am I allowed refunded to me if I cancel the transaction

You don't necessarily have to sign a contract to have a contract.

Your signature on a check and your receipt for the money (even if you paid in cash) could be your contract.

Did you get a receipt? What does it say?

Did you get any paperwork at all? What does it say?

Hard to imagine that you just went to the dealer and handed over money without getting some kind of paperwork.

Was this through a dealership or a private sale? You didn't receive any type of paperwork at all?

Generally at a dealership ALL of the money is refundable. The exception might be if you drove their vehicle temporarily, they might keep something for miles and/or damages. This could vary by state so if you get a refusal to refund, check with your
state DMV.
