I live in Illinois and was stopped in Indiana for speeding in a construction zone (45-50 is the limit, he says I was 70). Lawyer wants some serious money to reduce the conviction to a regular ticket, timeframe: months. My driver's license just expired, and I can't renew it because of this "stop" on the record. I looked into my driving record and there is no description about it being in a construction zone. So why pay a lawyer and wait months to be able to drive again in order to get rid of an infraction that is not even described as such in the driving record? If I go ahead and pay the fine at least I will be driving in no time. Let me know if I am on the right track here. BTW, this is my only ticket in the last 12 months.
