child support order also includes ex to provide medical insurance for the kids and he had the monthly amount lowered because he said he paid a premium for the benefits. However, he took one of the girls off the insurance in January and I am wondering what I am suppose to do to get her back on his insurance and what about the money he really didn't pay out for the premium and said he did? Isn't he in contempt of court? And if so how does one pursue action against him?
I want my daughter to get what she is entitled to, please advise me what to do asap. Thank you

Okay, it's probably not what I was thinking then. If she had graduated high school and was not planning to go on to college (and if she were a year older) it MIGHT not have been his choice, but a requirement of the insurance carrier.

But under the circumstances, I doubt that the carrier made the requirement.

I think this is one you need to talk to your lawyer about.

Okay thank you. I really cannot afford an attorney and was hoping to be able to handle this myself. I guess I'll try to contact the Oregon support services program. Perhaps they can help me. Again, I thank you.

I'm going to give you an additional suggestion that may or may not be helpful.

IF his insurance is through his employer, you might want to give someone in his HR office a call. They will PROBABLY refuse to talk to you since you are not employed with them and it is not your insurance but if you make it clear that you want to talk about your daughter's coverage, they MIGHT. They are not required to. If they refuse to discuss it with you, that is their right. But it's worth a try.

Even if they will talk to you, it's quite unlikely that anything you discuss will change the situation. But it might give you some additional information to use when you talk to the Support Services people.

Also, many attorneys will give a free or low cost consultation. You might give your local bar association a call and see if they can refer you to someone in your area who will do that.
