I would like to end my lease early. Lease terms end on 5/31, but I would like to move out by 4/30. Reason, there are many.
1. Noisy girl above during "quite hours: 10pm-8am)- have reported to security when the office is closed, and followed up with leasing office during business hours. Girl still parties it up all hours of the night.

2. Drug dealer operating out of building. Notified leasing office of what I've observed- baggies and money exchanging hands on the premise and right outside my window. I even WITNESSED the security BUY DRUGS. Reported to the police and leasing office. Still I see him patrol the building.

3. Urine in the elevators and feces in the stairwells. Human or animal I'm not sure. I have seen urine in the elevator three times in the last two weeks.

I gave my building formal notice via the forms they require. I've tried talking to them politely. They refuse to let me out of the lease without penalty. I wrote a very nice letter, and still nothing.

Do I have any rights and any way out?

You can certainly move out whenever you wish. However, you run the risk of management suing you for breaking your lease.

What type of penalty does management impose if you move out early? It might be worth it to you to pay it if you are uncomfortable living there.

Just Cause To Break Lease

1. Make sure you keep evidence of the incidents as well as evidence of REPORTING. Police reports, WRITTEN complaints to office, and if you can take pictures or video of problems.
2. Submit letter explaining your moving due to problems continuing after reporting them and let them know if they charge you a penalty for breaking the lease you will sue them.
3. Move out
4. If they penalize you sue them!:)
