My grandmother is on a vent. Her bills are piling up. She cannot sign documents at this time. I need to become her durable power of attorney. I dont want to hire an attorney. Can she sign with an "X"? Or can she give verbal consent with witnesses?

She can sign with an X if there are two witnesses OTHER THAN the power of attorney and the notary.

You would write HER above the X and MARK below the X.

It would need to be witnessed and notarized in accordance with your state law.
