I believe my parents (family) have an issue with a neighbor. My family are of Asian decent, and she(we had assumed it was her, at first) called the cops on our family that we were killing, smoking, and eating dogs. I was the only adult person at my parents home the day the cops arrived for the call. I was babysitting my niece while my brother and his wife were out. The cops said that someone called stating that we were killing (in the process of killing) dogs and eating them in the backyard! I was disgusted that someone would accuse us of such heinous crimes! The police officers came checked the yard for any dog parts, our smoker (which was stated on and smoking dog meat), the garage and our basement windows for any dogs. Obviously there were not dog feast going on, since it was just me and my 1 y/o niece at my parents home.
I have a dog of my own, and my sister has a dog. My family have never killed or eaten or harmed any dogs! My husband is Caucasian, and the other day we were over at my parents with my dog. He took our dog outside to use the bathroom in the back yard and she came out of her house and said, "Why do you have your dog here?! Don't you know they eat dogs!?"
He was a bit shocked at what she said, and asked her, "Why do you think they eat dogs? Have you seen them eat dogs before?"
She answered, "they have a smoker! they eat dogs."
Our smoker we have in our yard has not been used in over 4-5 years. He then told them that he was married to me, the daughter of the family, and have a dog of our own. We've never eaten or harmed a dog before in our lives. When i came out to see what was going on, she changed the topic about trying to get me to "sell" my dog. I love my dog to much to sell him and of course told her that No, i love my dog too much to sell him. If i ever decided to breed my dog, and if she still interested in the breed, i'd be willing to sell her a puppy.
This woman accused us of eating dogs to my husband and i was there, when the cops came to search our home and property. What do you suggest we do with this woman? Would we have a case against her and get her to stop with her harassments?
My parents are greatly offended and hurt! They love our dogs as much as they love their grand-daughter. My mother is very distraught that the neighbor would accuse of such great lengths without even seeing any proof of my family doing anything of any sort. She's at a point where she wants to call the police on her, and report that the neighbor is harassing our family. She always seems to pick fights with my brother when he's trying to do yard work or bring out garbage or parking his car on our property or on the street. They've tried to just ignore her and her rants, but the last straw was the "eating dog and calling the cops on us".
