alright i've been wanting to ask this ? so back in 2010 in may while i was working at a supermarket late at night a customer dropped some money total of $8.00 near the self checkout machine. i saw it and left it their for like 20 mins to see if the customer would come back but didn't so i got greedy n put the money in my pocket and about 20 mins later clocked off my shift and went home. the next day i clocked in went upstairs to the breakroom to look at my schedule and was approached by lp. they asked me my name and told me to come into the backroom to talk. i already knew what this was so i had no intention to lie about anything (probably got me on cam so lying wouldnt work either way) the lp guy took out a recorder and begin the interrogation. i told them the truth, signed some papers and wrote what happened and they asked me if i'd pay the customer back and i said definitely and after that was over i was told i'd be suspended until the further investigation....so i had to clock out and was escorted by the lp guys out of the store. a week later i got a letter and it was from the store manager saying they finished the investigation and i was terminated. this store closed down about 3 months later due to lack of business. now i recently applied to a retail store and i'm wondering if i've been put into this theft database ive seen people talk about and if there was a way this retail store would find out my incident with the store though it doesnt exist?

How would anyone here know the answer to that?

Apply somewhere and find out.

The next time you're tempted, do the RIGHT thing.

i did applied to a retail store and got a job offer pending a drug test and background check last monday. i took the drug test the same day and i havent heard from the store yet.

Unless you were under age 18 at the time this happened, you might have been/could have been reported. As army judge said, there is no way for us to know.

Then they could have reported it at that time. It doesn't matter that the store no longer exists.

You're welcome for the replies. It's not worth it to steal any amount of money.

If your former employer subscribe to said database then your name is likely in there. It will be there for about 7 years. The only people who can view this record are other subscribers. Who subscribes and who does not is kept pretty secret but there are ways to find out.

how can i find out other then waiting for my background check?

I was furnishing the link for the OP just in case OP was interested in reading about the database. (general info) I know what OP really wants to know - OP said in 1st post wanted to know if was put in database. You apparently sent OP info on how to find out if the employer was a subscriber. The link gives pretty good gen. info some of which we posted above - age you have to be, how long you stay on .......

I have resources on some of these subscribers and who they are. However this is kept close to the vest by the database and its subscribers. I am reluctant to post the info publically. Therefore I supply it privately

Ok, I understand.
