Employment Problem??

I was first suspended pending criminal investigation by the town in Illinois I'd work for without being told what was the investigation was about. 2 days later I received a letter stating I've been terminated for threatening a city vendor and favoritism. I was approved for unemployment (due to insufficient evidence against me) and the town tired to appeal and they never showed up for the appeal. Keep in mind that my boss has used racist remarks and Vulg language besides trying to get rid of me for the last 3 years. (for which I have documentation for 3 yrs worth) I love the job and it's been an uphill battle to sustain it. It's been 6 months and no charges have been filed yet??
1) How long can they keep going with an investigation? and
2)When does it finalize?
3) If and when I find out who accused me , can sue for defamation and/or slander?
4) Will I be able to sue for wrongful termination and /or discrimination/harassment by the town and/or boss?

If you can prove that they knowingly and deliberately lied, as opposed to misunderstanding something, having a different opinion than yours, or were mistaken, you can try if you can find a lawyer to take the case. But the burden of proof will be on you.

4) Will I be able to sue for wrongful termination and /or discrimination/harassment by the town and/or boss? No. That is not what wrongful termination means.
