Empty promises and false hope

I was hired about two years ago by a company that recently terminated me because of the economy. When I was hired I was promised, in writting, a review in no longer that 6 months. I never received one in my tenure. I was told in that I'd have to wait because the company was not doing so well. In the mean time, a nationwide company was purchasing others and growing with employees in other parts of the nation receiving reveiews and increase in pay. Mind you, it is not a matter of receiving a review without pay but a matter of none whatsoever. It is not a matter of "reminders" or "forgetting" either, it is a matter of "wait for an empty for promise so that you may have false hope". Do I have any rights now?

Nope. You should have gone after your review while employed with your former employer.
