my lease is up on March 17th,as a courteousy i notified my landlord I would not be re-newing my lease.He in formed me that I have to give a 60 day notice to move out.I intend on paying March rent and still moving out that month but can they charge for april rent since my lease is up in March.Should I have just been an a- hole and moved with no notice since my lease is up as of march 17th? what should I do,whats my legal rights? I know if you break a lease early you are required to give a notice to move out,but when the term of the lease is up can they still hold me to it legally?

Does your lease state anything about "notice" and how long a notice must be given? also look up any state laws that apply to notice

yeah it says 60 days,but thats if you are breaking a lease early...my point is my lease is up as of march 17th

Leases to not often have provisions that allow one to "break" lease unless it requirs additional funds (rent) So I I think you have misread or misunderstood the 60 days. Its my belief the 60 days notice is for moving period! You failed to do so
