I sent a letter informing the Property Management Company of a few issues including mold which they received Friday. I got a call today from the woman there and she asked a bunch of questions and then let me know she had to get people together to get out here. During the conversation....she completely walked around and ignored the "mold" issue which was one of several but the biggest concern as I have 2 small children. Well we discovered mold when we first moved in under the carpet in the mst bedroom...all they did was caulk outside of house and then place a drying agent over the moldy area and caulk the carpet back down. We also found mold in the AC handler which we sprayed with bleach but informed them of. Since this is how they treated the issue to begin with...I called the health department. The gentleman came out and to sum it up, our mst bath has nothing but a lot of moisture covering the walls which is due to a leak somewhere in the roof. This has caused visible mold on the drywall under the latex paint which we peeled back. He also found black mold under just about every corner that was lifted of carpet and also in the AC handler. This is all active mold. WHat should I do at this point? The report will take a week. Should I tell the Mgmt company that I the health inspector out an d that I want to move by August or how should I deal with the mgmt co? I do not want this just covered up like they did last time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take pictures. Send a letter, certified return receipt which should include your intentions. If the problem is as serious as you say, then you must move quickly out since there is a serious health hazard that you claim makes the place uninhabitable.
