my father died in 05/27/2013 and willed his main insurance to the estate to pay his final bills and devide his real estate. My question is there are other insurance policies, do I have ton post them to the estate? in the will he stated any funds left over was to go to me

Life ins. passes outside the estate & goes to the beneficiary named in the policy to do with as they wish unless the estate is the beneficiary. The policy with the estate as bene will go to the estate. If there are any other life ins. policies, they will go to the bene named in the policies.

If any policies do not have a designated beneficiary, they are assets of the estate.

It would be rare though that a life ins. policy did not have a designated bene. I was a life ins. underwriter & we would not accept an application w/o a bene.
