My husband and I purchased a home from my mother in law because she was unknowingly in foreclosure. I say unknowingly because she decided to not open any mail or pay any bills she didn't feel she needed to. We paid all her past taxes and liens and assumed a mortgage. She lives with us and pays no rent and has has no lease. We have 2 small children and their safety has become an issue. We need her to leave and have consulted with an attorney friend and several social workers and are getting conflicting answers. Do we need to legally evict her or just ask her to leave?
