i have an ex girlfriend that is has a few things of mine i have a recorded phone message saying she has it yet has never been returned even tho i have asked many times i dont wish to bother police with a simple matter but she has moved and i have no current address to go retrieve it she ignores my calls and i want it back

This most likely a civil matter and you will need to sue her

Do you have any mutual friends who might know where she currently lives & might tell you? You "might" end up having to go to court if she will not return your items.

She cannot legally hold property that she acknowledges is yours. We call that "theft" out here. You can call the police and make a report, you can sue her in small claims court, you can plead and cajole her if you can track her down, or you can write the stuff off ... or, any combination of these. Your call.
