ex wife....how to stop the insanity

got divorced in 07 been paying $1,000 a month in alimony she had a baby by the man she left me for and they are living in the house her i i used to share and now attached my wages for 1400 a month in alimony because i got a lil behind due to the fact that i am now remarried and have to support my family....i am active duty navy and she now takes more than half of my pay check every month. i need and want to petition this but i cannot afford to with her taking all of my money. my wife and i have 3 kids and my wife cannot work due to a hip injury. i am lost and confused on what to do every attorney i speak with wants 1500-2500 to appeal the alimony. what do i do? i cant afford to hire an attorney and take care of my own family at the same time. we are stationed 7 hrs away for the ex.....if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it very much...thank you

You are not responsible for supporting your wife and her kids. She is. She needs to file for social security disability and child support from her kids father.

What does your decree say on how long alimony is supposed to last? You still have to pay support. There are jobs your wife can do even with a hip injury, she needs to look for employment, or get on disability. It is totally unrealistic for your wife to expect you are going to support 2 families, and children that are not yours, on your income.
