Ex won't let me change child's Doctor

My ex husband and I share 50/50 custody, I have always taken our son to all of his dr appts, my ex has NEVER taken him to any, I want to change Dr office due to the change of staff and distance is 45 min away. I am told I need a petition to modify. He is difficult about everything, is this worth going to court and possible loosing?

If no court order saying you cannot change doctors exists, just do it. He can always pay to return to court for a contempt complaint.

Reread your decree. Mine says each parent has the independent right to give the child medical care when needed. I take my kids to the pediatrician that has taken care of them since birth. My ex takes them to her family doctor.
