I need to know from a lawyer if there are any legal ramifications on me, his father had legal custody before this whole mess started but doesn't have the ability to care for him and wants me to have our son.

If it is definitely a temporary order that expired (& not a permanent order), go get your son. The custodial parent has rights to him, unless the guardianship was extended.

Your post above wasn't there yet when I typed my 1st post. In this case, talk to a lawyer.

(We can't give you a referral to a specific lawyer/law firm. Contact your local legal aid society or your state or local bar assoc. for a referral.)

I have the order in my hand it says TEMPORARY ORDER NOT TO EXCEED 6 MONTHS

Ok. You will still have to talk to a lawyer since it seems Father has legal custody.

Do nothing until you have met with a lawyer (or two) in your county.

The worse thing you can do is make a scene or cause a ruckus.

You may not know everything, and it is never wised to go off half cocked.

Once you have engaged a lawyer to assist you, follow the advice of THAT lawyer ONLY.
