My son has been chosen as school captain in grade six.... He is eleven years old. He was made to sign an agreement to say he would abide by all school rules and attend all school functions as a representitive. Prior to signing on three occasions he was told he would be stripped of his position if he were late to school, were not in school uniform and did not meet the expectations of a sustainability initiative that is run by the school... The supposed 'contract' has been formatted by school council and I am concerned that it may lead to him being exploited by the school. Is this contract legally binding and does a state school (primary) have the right to enforce such paperwork??? Kind Regards, 

In the US, this would be perfectly okay.

Alas, what happens in the US is of no consequence.

With that said, I believe Army Judge has a lot of experience with Australian law. I'm sure he'll stop by :)
