F.O.I.D. Card question?

I was wondering, my father has wanted his FOID card for a long time considering he loves to hunt but he is a convicted felon and my question is his felony was 20+ years ago could he get it since it was so long ago?

Why not ask the Illinois State Police?
They administer the FOID program in your state.
