Failure to meet stipulation

As a result of our mutual agreement prior to trial my landlord and I entered into a stipulation where I would make 2 payments on specific dates and they would in return complete the repairs that initiated my withholding the rent and give 24 hour written notice prior to doing so. If I fail to make those payments then an immediate writ to forfeit property would be issued, etc.

So here is my dilema. The 2nd payment was due on Friday 6/15 and since I've gotten my SSI direct deposit on the friday before the 3rd wednesday of every month for the past year I saw no problem with meeting this date. As luck would have it the US Government, for the first time in 12 months, decided to make my deposit on Monday 6/18 at around 5pm.(they actually have until Wednesday 6/20 to make it) The following morning within 30 minutes of the landlords office opening I went to make the payment but it was refused since it was late.

My question is.. now that the landlord is moving forward with the eviction is there anything at all I can do given the extenuating nature of why I couldn't make the payment on time?? Also the landlord still has not made the repairs listed in our agreement and failed to give proper notice as stated when they had a repairman show up out of the blue at 9:30am on a Sunday morning(which I denied entry to due to the lack of notice and he woke me up).

There has to be some sort of process in place to accomplish this otherwise what keeps a landlord from just saying that the payment was never made and proceeding.
