Failure to obtain VA license 46.2

I was issued a citation for "Failure to obtain a VA driver's licence" (law section 46.2). I own a home in FL and moved to VA over a year ago. I never got a VA license/registration. What kind of fine/penalty would I be facing? Is this something worth finding a lawyer for?

I plan to get a VA license before the court date. I live/work here now and started renting my home out in FL.

No need for a lawyer. Chances are that if you just go get the VA license then the citation will be dismissed... sort of like a fix-it ticket.
If you get the license before the court date you can contact the court and see if they will dismiss it with your submission of proof that you got the license. Otherwise, present it in court and ask for the citation to be dropped.
