I am currently unemployed. My aunt asked me to remodel her deceased mother's home in order to put it on the market. She agreed to and signed the bill detailing everything I had done for the remodel, with the amount due being 5000.00 payable in full on the day of closing which is in two weeks. She now states she does not have to honor this. The remodel took place in Colorado. However, after closing of the house my aunt will be going back to Texas. How do I handle this please.

How soon will your aunt be leaving after closing? The sooner you file a suit and serve her papers the better... but if the agreement is that you will be paid upon closing then you might have to wait until then.
However, if she has made statements indicating that she will not pay you then you might be able to get a lien on the property if you can prove you are owed the money... that way your share comes right out of the sale and you don't have to worry about your aunt paying it.
