Failure to Yield

I was preparing to make a left hand turn as I exited the driveway of a fast food restaurant. There was traffic waiting at a red light that was obstructing my view of oncoming traffic. Before I proceeded to make my left hand turn I looked both ways several times before proceeding to the intersection to make sure it was safe to turn. As I approached the middle lane that was a vehicle coming down the middle lane that I did not see. This vehicle did not see me also because a truck obstructed his view of me also causing the car to collide into me. I was cited for not yielding the right away while exiting or entering an intersection. This oncoming driver did not want to wait in traffic and he was attempting to reach the middle lane so that he could make a left hand when the traffic turned green. What are my chances when I contest this ticket?

It seems you were not completely without blame. You can talk to a traffic law attorney & see what he/she can do for you.

Your chances are slim. The oncoming vehicles had the right of way. If your view was obstructed you should not have entered the intersection.
