My jurisdiction is: montgomery county dayton ohio

I am trying to insure that the amount of support awarded for my daughter is fair for both parties. I make minimum wage ($7.60) and work 40 hours a week while her mother makes $20+ an hour and works 40+ hours a week. I am in school fulltime trying to get a better job and have to also pay daycare on my weekends so that I can work. I feel that the amount awarded is to high considering the incomes and has left me unable to survive and support my daughter when she is with me. I also know that her mother is not reporting an accurate income to the child support agency. The magistrate requested no proof of income on her part and took her word on her income. How can I make sure that all information submitted by her is accurate and that the amount awarded is just. As of right now she is awarded $540 a month. That half of my bring home pay. I can not survive off of this?

I do not see how mon got half of your pay here. Did you have an attorney? You can appeal this. You really need to start googling fathers rights groups in your state to see if anyone has advice for you. Mom should be required to bring proof of her income but how do you know she makes 20.00 an hour? That sound high. Are you capable of making a higher income? did you have a higher paying job before? Is a parenting time discount factoed into this? You need to google your states CS guidelines to see if what you have been ordered to pay is fair.
