We just found out that my aunt died last year from my mother's other sister. This half sister of my mother asked my mom to give up her right for the inheritance. They all inherited something from my grandfather when he passed away more than 50 years ago. This deceased aunt never married, and had no children. How do I make sure my mom get her fair share of family estate/money, and how do we get her sister's death certificate so that we can proceed overseas estate/money also in a just way.

Is your mother living?

Your mother will not get a "fair" share.
She is a half-sibling.
Under the laws of intestacy in Texas, she is entitled to one-half of what the other heirs receive.

If your mom is deceased and you have four siblings, each of you will get 20% of her share, whatever that might have been!

If your aunt dies and left a will, your mother may not have been mentioned in that will.
If that is the case, she is entitled to nothing.
Don't assume that because there is a familial relationship, that you are automatically entitled to inherit something.

You mentioned "overseas".
Did this aunt die in another country, or are you planning a move after the distribution?

Why do you need a death certificate?
They are easily obtained from the keeper of such records in the palce where she died.

In Texas, you can order them online.
This website explains how to go about it.
But, without standing you might have trouble.
The easiest way is to ask the funeral director for a copy.
