I am getting a divorce.
I purchased a jet ski through a finance company in my name only before I was married and put my boyfriend's name on the registration at the time. We got married and now he claims he has right to half of the jet ski. I paid the ski off in full in my name. He made no down payment but made some monthly payments. I am willing to pay him back for the monthly payments he made. He wants to take the jet ski. What are my options?
Also, I purchased a home 6 years before I was married and had my husband sign a Quitdeed Claim stating he gave up his rights to all community property and it is my sole and separate property. He now wants money from the house. We have been married for 1 year and 8 months. What are his rights? There are no home improvements.
We both purchased a Truck before we were married. I am the co-signer of the truck and made a down payment with him. We got married and I paid the truck off with money from my home. What are my rights for reimbursement for the truck? Thank you.

The forum does get specific in it's answers concerning such matters. We usually give general answers. These are specific questions for a divorce attorney. However, if your husband filled out a Quitdeed Claim and the property was purchased before you were married you should be able to retain all your original property prior to marriage. Any thing purchased after you were married will probably have to be divided equitably. Offer to pay him what you stated in post and hopefully the divorce judge will find you are being reasonable. Take all your receipts and payment information to bolster all your claims.

If the jetski is in both your names both of you have equal claim to it. He demand all he wants, you can tell him that since you paid for the jetski for the most part, you are keeping it. If he wants it, he can buy it from you. You'll have to ask for him to buy it from you in the divorce. You'll need to distribute all the assets. You probably have a good case not to give him any of the house. You need an attorney big time.
