Fallen trees on fence

I have new chain link fencing in the back yard. The neighbors trees fell on it and pulled the poles apart and damaged the fencing. She tells me that she doesnt own the land because there was a road there years and years ago. I spoke to the town and the highway department and they both told me she owns the land. Is she responsible for repairing the fence and taking the big trees off the fence? Please help. Thanks

Yes she is, though you might have to sue her to enforce it.
