Im wondering if I can sue a company for falsly accusing my husband of criminal mischeif. My husband and I were visiting my brother at his apartment complex for the first time. After about 3 hours there my husband decided to get something for us to eat. It was the first time he left the neighborhood. He was then pulled over because an employee at the apartment complex (who had been standing outside staring at us) had called the police and said my husband had ran through the back gate and had some sort of illegal drugs on him. The accusations were completely false (we even had 4 witnesses who could state that he had come in through the front entrance driving a Gold mitsubishi galant and that i had driven his white toyota supra) He was accused of going through the fence in the white toyota that he hadnt even gotten into until he was pulled over. My husband was searched by a Canine and charged with Criminal Mischief. The Charges were dropped about a week ago after we turned in our witness list. We had 4 witnessess and the apartment complex had one "witness". Im wondering if i can sue them for wrongfuly accusing him and for the emotional distress of us having to go through this while pregnant with our first child and my anxiety disorder.

Nope... doesn't sound like you have anything to work with. You would have to be able to prove that the person knowingly made a false report... and while you may know they did, you won't be able to prove it.
The charges are dropped... you already succeeded. Let it go.
